For far too long lobster has been viewed as a costly and extravagant meal to have at the dinner table. This is because the middle man in the fishing industry has always taken a larger cut of the profits to help make his business worthwhile.
The result is that you, the customer, end up paying more and we, the fisherman, end up earning less. But this is all about to change thanks to a new initiative by The Yorkshire Lobster Company. The answer is simple - we’re cutting out the middle man and going straight from the pot to the table top. This means better prices for you, the customer, and a better living for us, the fisherman. Now that is a fresh way to look at lobster.

Sustainably caught
in Yorkshire seas


Our approach to sustainably sourced lobster ensures that the stocks in the Yorkshire seas are well cared for. We will not sell you 'Berried Hens' - Lobsters that are carrying eggs. A lobster will reach it's mating maturity long before it is legal for it to be caught, so we always take care when handling our lobsters. Our grade 1 lobsters are ready for your tables and with a generous minimum allowable size that we are allowed to catch we ensure sustainability is at the heart of our business for this and future generations.
